Careem can be claimed as one of the reliable ride-hailing services in the Middle-East. The success of the business can be determined by the number of countries that it has expanded in. Careem is adding newer business models as extensions to the original ride-hailing service. Earlier this year, Careem invested over $150 million into a new food delivery app service by the name of “Careem Now”.
Careem started its operations as early as 2012. They first launched a website for the booking of corporate cars. Due to the immense success, Careem evolved into a full-time transportation service where cars could easily be booked. Since then, the operations of Careem have expanded throughout the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. According to their official website, Careem operates in more than 120 cities across 15 countries and has created more than one million job opportunities.
In February 2018, Careem acquired RoundMenu. RoundMenu is a restaurant listing and food ordering platform that is used throughout Arab. Careem has expanded into the food-delivery market.
Careem Now is a separate app available for both IOS and Android. The app will allow users to order food from lined restaurants that you can browse through the app.
For now, the app has launched in Dubai and Jeddah. The service is available 24/7 in regard with the hours of the operations of the restaurants. The choice of restaurants are the ones listed on the RoundMenu app which is also a fair deal. Careem Now will provide its users with a system that will track down their orders and other details. The app will also focus on a dedicated customer service which will be available 24/7. For pricing, Careem Now will charge a fee for the service of deliveries. The following zones are currently being served:
Dubai: Business Bay, Jumeirah 1, JLT, Marina, Tecom, Al Quoz, Deira, Garhoud, Motor City, Sports City.
Jeddah: Al Rawdha, Al Salamah, Al Naeem,Al Hamra, Al Andalus, Al Khalidiya, Al Safa, Al Zahraa
The biggest competitors of Careem Now are Uber Eats, Zomato, Talabat and Deliveroo. To stay strong in the market, Careem Now needs to make their service better than its competitors.
Careem Now is planning to expand to other countries as well.
What to expect?
Like other food delivery apps including UberEats, Zomato, Talabat and Deliveroo, Careem Now will also follow the same ground rules. The list of restaurants that you can choose from are the ones that were present on the RoundMenu app. RoundMenu became a part of Careem earlier this year. If you are already the user of Careem, you will be logged on to the Careem Now App and can enjoy the service without signing up (if that isn’t a hassle). Keep in mind the zones where Careem Now is delivering. The company has also pressed upon very good customer service and tracking options for your food. As it is just been launched, Careem Now, is worth trying out. Download the app and enjoy some really good food!
